WELCOME to MAR00N
feat. C0NS0LE GiRL
They promised eternity. You signed on the dotted line. A new voice from Chronicles of The Hollow Circuit® sends word from inside a sold-off afterlife, where consciousness is uploaded, attention is harvested and grief is traded like stock.
01 / The signal
The attention economy isn't a metaphor any more.
C0NS0LE GiRL is the newest rapper to come out of Chronicles of The Hollow Circuit®, and WELCOME to MAR00N is her latest single. It's a track about an eternity somebody sold you: upload your consciousness, never decay, never bleed. Then you find out forever was built to someone else's business plan.
Every tear has an invoice.
Every scream is a share.
The track takes its world from MAR00N by V. Tracer, a cyberpunk and digital horror novel about corporations selling perpetuity while consolidating power. It isn't an adaptation. It's the same nerve, in another medium.
02 / The installation
Made for a wall, not a phone.
The video is a sensory overload video art installation. A face breaks apart into halftone. An eye, a nostril and a mouth are sliced into bands and put back out of order, with cables pushing in at the edges and signal meters pulsing across the cuts like a heartbeat being measured. It's a person as data, and the data doesn't quite fit back together.
It's built to be projected at scale in venues and clubs. What's here is the small-screen version, so turn it up and go full screen.
⚠ Photosensitivity warning: the video contains intense flashing lights and rapid cuts.
